PoP ~ September Thought Prompts & Discussion

The rules are pretty simple:

  • This is a safe place for you to share your thoughts and ideas on each day’s prompt.
  • Critical thought and poignant questions are encouraged.
  • Any behavior that seems aggressive, abusive or attempts to undermine the efforts of other participants will be banned from the conversation and the site.

September’s journey is about seasonal transition.

As our routines and lifestyles experience a shift, we have the opportunity to choose everything consciously.

From our routines to our hobbies, even our relationships; transitional periods are THE best time to get off mindless defaults and start living on purpose.

Mantra: With grace and ease I make space for and welcome new, purposeful inspirations.

Clarity Portion of the Month

(Days 1-10, minus weekends)

Get clear on what charges your batteries.

Day 1 Thought Prompt

Who’s company energizes you?

That glowy feeling you get after spending hours doing nothing … who gives that to you?

Day 2 Thought Prompt

What makes you feel curious?

Why do you click that headline? What subject makes you investigate further? Who could you ask questions of all night over dinner?

Day 3 Thought Prompt

What do you do that feels like play?

Most of my work feels like play so don’t get to caught up on the work/play dichotomy (which is false). What are you doing when you light up inside?

Day 4 Thought Prompt

What brings out your creativity?

Writing, building, singing … interpretive dance or inappropriate haikus??? What nudges you to goof around without an end goal in mind?

Day 5 Thought Prompt

Who/What makes you laugh?

No judgement here, if watching kids knock baseballs into crotches is your thing then write it down!

Day 6 Thought Prompt

Where are you when a deep breath feels good?

Bubble bath? Nature? This is just a good list to keep handy because stress brain will have us believe that there is no safe, relaxing breaks in our life. *eyeroll*

Day 7 Thought Prompt

What are your favorite smells, sensations, tastes, sights and sounds?

Day 8 Thought Prompt

What is your body doing when you feel the most free?

No shame in this game … put dancing naked on the list if you want to, I’ll never know!

Bonus benefits when you recruit one of the people you identified on Day 1!!

Day 12 Thought Prompt

Day 14 Thought Prompt

Review Day 6:

When can you go to the person, place or thing where you can breathe deep and feel free? How often?

Schedule it. Make it a habit.

Buy, make or un-store the items you love to experience.

Day 16 Thought Prompt

Review Day 8:

How often a day/week/month can you engage in the physical activity that makes you feel free?

Be realistic … if you can only do 3m a day it still counts. This is not time for an “all or nothing” mindset.

Follow through with the plans you’ve put into place. Easy peezy!
